Series Overview
This Turkish–Pakistani historical epic, known in Turkey as Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi (Saladin: The Conqueror of Jerusalem), explores the life and times of Saladin, the founder of the Ayyubid dynasty. The show premiered in November 2023 on TRT 1 in Turkey and later in May 2024 on HUM TV in Pakistan .
Production & Format
Produced by Turkey’s Akli Film and Pakistan’s Ansari Shah Films, the series was filmed in Turkey and aimed at offering a blend of historical narrative and drama for a global audience .
While three seasons were planned, two have aired so far. Season 1 focuses on Saladin's early rise and unity of Muslim territories. Season 2 takes the action deeper—delving into Cairo and political alliances .

Plot Highlights — Season 2
Saladin’s journey intensifies after being thrown into a well by Count Miles. He escapes with the aid of Balian of Ibelin and finds himself in Egypt during a spring festival organized by the Fatimid vizier Dirgham. Tensions escalate as Dirgham conspires with Amalric, the King of Jerusalem, potentially opening the gates of Cairo to Crusader knights .
